#GivingTuesday has ended and we want to say we are grateful and appreciative of your support - through donations, sharing our social media posts, and giving words of encouragement.
We didn't reach our goal but we were able to raise $2,181! That's equivalent to 10 baby baskets filled with essential post-birthing and baby supplies for new mothers and their babies. Or, the cost of a normal delivery for 8 women by a qualified professional in a safe and clean environment. There are so many other ways where your donations will be put to good use. It's 4 days before #GivingTuesday but we are starting ahead. Yesterday, Mother's Heart staff dedicated the whole morning and part of the afternoon to help the Little Lambs Day Care in moving things to the new location.
It was a busy but fun time. One team was transporting boxes and boxes of stuff out of the old day care centre to the new one. Another team was cleaning and tidying the new place. Everybody pitching in made the task lighter, faster, and we feel more connected to one another. We are already looking forward to the opening of the day care on Monday!
There are so many ways to get involved and give back to your community - help a neighbour, give time to share your skills and expertise, give to a charity or causes like Mother's Heart, or you can also help spread the #GivingTuesday movement by sharing on your social media! This year, each and every one of our lives has been turned upside down. Yet, in the midst of this uncertainty, the generosity of supporters like you has helped Mother’s Heart Organization to provide support to keep mothers and babies together, safe, healthy, and well-nourished during the COVID-19 crisis.
No matter the obstacles, we’ll keep working to empower, equip and educate women and their families through counselling, support services, medical care and community involvement so they can choose the best future for themselves and their babies in the months and years to come—but we will need your continued compassion.
Next week, on Dec. 1, Mother’s Heart is participating in GlobalGiving’s #GivingTuesday campaign. We need your help to reach our goal of raising and exceed US$5,000 to continue providing support to the women and their so that they have the best start in life. Thanks to GlobalGiving’s #MoveAMillion incentive fund, the more you give, the larger share we win out of the $1M USD in bonus funds.
